Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time continues the series after the events of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. Neo Cortex, N. Tropy, and Uka Uka break free from an interdimensional prison, leaving Crash and Coco to follow them through fractured dimensions and timelines with Aku Aku.

Developed by Toys For Bob and published by Activision, this Nintendo Switch platformer combines familiar running, jumping, spinning, sliding, crate smashing, and Wumpa Fruit collecting with new movement challenges and dimensional abilities.

Quantum Masks and platforming

Four Quantum Masks provide powers that alter how hazards, puzzles, and routes can be approached. Levels call for careful timing with double jumps and spins, while wall-running and rope-swinging create additional ways to cross dangerous environments. Boss encounters and increasingly demanding stages build on these mechanics.

Playable characters

Crash and Coco lead the adventure, while Neo Cortex, Dingodile, and Tawna are also playable. These additional characters offer different gameplay perspectives as the story moves through imaginative worlds with distinct themes and challenges.

Optional challenges and secrets

Completion-focused players can search stages for hidden gems, secret paths, Wumpa Fruit, and every crate. Flashback Tapes and N. Sanely Perfect Relics add further objectives, while N. Verted mode presents alternate takes on levels. Revisiting areas after gaining access to masks or characters can reveal routes that were previously out of reach.
