04 About SOULVARS

SOULVARS is a role-playing game from Shueisha Games, released for Nintendo Switch on June 26, 2023. It places players in a world under attack by mysterious spiritual entities called Dominators.

Conventional weapons cannot stop these creatures. A newly appointed Soulbearer joins a dedicated unit that can channel the power of its own soul, confronting the threat while uncovering secrets surrounding the Dominators and their origins.

Soulbit-based battles

Combat is turn-based and built around Soulbits, fragments of a character's soul used to activate skills. Characters can combine Soulbits in particular orders to unleash Arts, which may deal heavy damage or provide support. Careful resource use and planning are central to each encounter.

Gear and team strategy

Gear changes character statistics, available Soulbits, and skill options. Different equipment combinations allow players to adjust their party for particular enemies and approaches. Enemy weaknesses can be exploited for stronger results, while defensive options and coordinated Arts help the team endure longer fights.

Dominators and difficult encounters

The journey follows the Soulbearers' struggle to protect humanity from the Dominators, with battles contributing to the unfolding narrative. Major enemies demand thoughtful party setups, effective Soulbit management, and attention to dangerous foes that can inflict high damage or debilitating effects.
