The adventure follows the Nameless Hero after the defeat of the Sleeper. Rescued from rubble by the mage Xardas, he returns to an island facing a growing threat from dark creatures and the return of dragons.

A threatened Khorinis

Paladins have arrived from the mainland to restore order, but their efforts are not enough to secure Khorinis. The hero must investigate the dragons’ resurgence while navigating political tensions, ancient prophecies, dangerous wilderness, and uncertain alliances. Decisions about whom to trust and which faction to support shape the course of the journey.

Factions, exploration, and combat

Players can explore a detailed open world, meet a varied cast of characters, and undertake numerous quests with branching choices and consequences. Three factions are available to join: the Militia, Mercenaries, and Fire Mages. Real-time combat is demanding and rewards practice, while trainers can teach new skills and abilities. Weapons, armor, and potions can also be crafted to improve survival chances.

A reactive role-playing adventure

Khorinis uses a day-and-night cycle that influences character routines and monster appearances. Early encounters can be difficult, encouraging careful exploration, selective fights, and investment in combat training. Side quests provide opportunities to gain experience and reputation, while different weapons and combat styles allow players to develop an approach that suits them.
