Azure Striker GUNVOLT 3 is a 2D action title from Inti Creates, released for Nintendo Switch on July 28, 2022. Its conflict centers on Kirin, a shrine maiden able to seal Septimal powers, and Gunvolt, who has become the dangerous Primal Dragon.

Kirin’s mission leads her into a struggle to contain Gunvolt’s power before it causes widespread chaos. Familiar characters and new opponents appear throughout a story focused on duty, friendship, and difficult decisions.

Two Combat Styles

The game uses a dual-character system built around Kirin and Primal Dragon Gunvolt. Kirin fights at close range with her sword and talismans, while Gunvolt brings ranged Septimal attacks. Switching between their distinct abilities supports damage, movement, and combat flexibility.

Kirin and Gunvolt Abilities

Kirin can use Arc Chain to retrieve sealed enemies and extend her combos, as well as Silent Seal to disrupt enemy abilities. Image Pulses summon assistance from characters from earlier Gunvolt games, providing special attacks and different combat boosts. Gunvolt can deploy Flashfield and other powerful attacks through these summons.

Stages, Bosses, and Scoring

Fast platforming stages combine enemy encounters, demanding layouts, and multi-phase boss fights. Players can pursue high rankings by maintaining combos, defeating foes efficiently, avoiding damage, and learning the patterns found across each stage.
