Green Hell is an adventure game from Forever Entertainment, released for Nintendo Switch on October 08, 2020. It places anthropologist Jake Higgins in the Amazon rainforest after his wife, Mia, vanishes during an attempt to contact an indigenous tribe.

Jake’s search unfolds in a hostile wilderness where survival and investigation are closely connected. As clues emerge, the journey explores isolation, psychological pressure, and unsettling mysteries surrounding the forest and its inhabitants.

Survival in the rainforest

The jungle demands attention to hunger, thirst, stamina, fatigue, and mental health. Players gather natural materials and food while contending with dangerous wildlife, shifting weather, disease, wounds, infections, parasites, and other environmental threats. Clean water, shelter, fire, and careful use of medicinal plants can be essential to staying alive.

Crafting and exploration

Sticks, stones, leaves, and plants can be used to make tools, weapons, armor, and structures. Hunting and fishing provide food, while shelter construction offers protection from the elements and threats in the rainforest. Exploring the open Amazon environment helps uncover resources, story clues, and its hidden dangers.

Sanity and health

Physical survival is only part of the challenge. Stress can damage Jake’s sanity and lead to hallucinations or other negative effects. Injuries and ailments require attention, encouraging players to inspect their condition, seek suitable remedies, and make cautious choices about food, travel, and rest.

Languages

This USA release includes English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian language support.
