Atelier Firis: The Alchemist And The Mysterious Journey DX is an RPG released for Nintendo Switch in 2021. This DX edition follows Firis Mistlud, a young girl from a secluded underground mining town who dreams of seeing the world beyond its enormous stone door.

After discovering alchemy, Firis opens the way outside and begins a journey across new regions. To continue pursuing her goal, she has one year to earn recommendations and pass the official alchemist examination.

Exploration and time management

Firis travels through broad fields, towns, and varied environments, gathering resources and meeting new characters along the way. Time is an important part of the adventure: actions consume time, and progress toward the examination must be made before the deadline arrives.

Alchemy on the road

Synthesis is central to Firis's journey. Ingredients and catalysts can be combined to create items with different qualities and properties, allowing experimentation with tools and equipment. Camp site synthesis lets Firis work with alchemy while exploring instead of requiring a return to a fixed location.

Battles and the DX edition

Combat uses turn-based encounters against creatures, with character skills and elemental weaknesses influencing strategy. Players can also unlock outfits for Firis, some of which provide bonuses. The DX version includes improved visuals and previously released DLC.
