Shadowrun Returns is an action RPG set in a bleak future where neon-lit streets, corporate power, advanced technology, and magic coexist. Released for Nintendo Switch in 2022, it follows a Shadowrunner drawn into the murder investigation of former crewmate Sam Watts.

What begins as a personal case expands into a mystery involving corporate interests, cults, and ancient forces. Players explore Seattle, speak with characters who have their own motives, gather information, and make dialogue decisions while pursuing the truth.

Build a Shadowrunner

Create a protagonist by selecting a race, role, and skills. Available approaches include the combat-focused street samurai, spellcasting mage, spirit-calling shaman, and Decker, who enters the Matrix to hack systems and obtain intelligence. Skills, cyberware, weapons, spells, and other upgrades allow characters to develop in different directions.

Tactical team combat

Battles use turn-based tactics, with cover, positioning, environmental hazards, grenades, and support abilities all playing a role. Recruitable Shadowrunners add distinct abilities and personalities to the group, while careful use of resources such as karma and nuyen supports character advancement and equipment choices.
