CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION is a role-playing game from Square Enix, released for Nintendo Switch on December 13, 2022. This enhanced version revisits the prequel story centered on Zack Fair and his time as a SOLDIER within the Shinra Electric Power Company.

Zack begins as a SOLDIER 2nd Class who admires Sephiroth and hopes to become a hero. His missions lead him toward Shinra’s genetic experiments, the disappearances of SOLDIER members, and the secrets connected to Project G and Project S. The story features Sephiroth, Genesis, and Cloud Strife, building toward the events at Nibelheim.

Real-Time Combat

Players control Zack in fast-paced battles that combine direct action with command-based options. He can attack with the Buster Sword, dodge, block, use Materia spells and abilities, and employ Limit Breaks and summons during difficult encounters.

Digital Mind Wave System

The Digital Mind Wave, or DMW, returns with rebalanced mechanics. Its randomized slot-style results can grant stat boosts, trigger Limit Breaks, and activate powerful effects in battle. Materia can be combined to shape Zack’s available combat options.

Missions and Presentation

The adventure includes exploration, boss fights, and optional missions that offer experience, items, and Materia. Reunion features redesigned HD character models, rendered environments, a re-orchestrated soundtrack, refined camera controls, and an updated interface. Fully voiced dialogue is available in English and Japanese.
