About Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy

Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is a role-playing game from KOEI TECMO, released for Nintendo Switch on January 26, 2021. Set three years after the previous adventure, it follows Ryza as a mysterious glowing stone draws her away from Kurken Island to the Royal Capital, Ashra-am Baird.

Her search leads through ancient ruins connected to the Lost Legends, where clues and reconstructed memories reveal pieces of a forgotten past. Ryza is joined by returning friends while encountering new discoveries, puzzles, and dangerous opponents.

Ruins and field exploration

Exploration is central to Ryza's journey. Ancient locations and underwater areas contain materials, hidden treasures, lore, and mysteries to investigate. Field actions such as swimming, diving, grappling, and riding creatures expand the places Ryza can reach, while gathering supplies supports her alchemical work.

Alchemy and synthesis

Alchemy remains a major part of the experience. The evolved synthesis system lets players combine ingredients with different properties to create items and pursue new effects. Materials gathered during exploration can be used for healing and attack items, gathering tools, and equipment upgrades.

Real-time tactical combat

Battles use a real-time tactical system with quick action commands, character switching, item use, and core charge skills. Encounters encourage attention to enemy patterns and elemental weaknesses, with party tactics and crafted items providing additional options against tougher foes.
