Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

04 About Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is a kart racing game developed by Beenox and published by Activision for Nintendo Switch. Released on June 21, 2019, it revisits the original Crash Team Racing with updated visuals, returning characters, tracks, and modes alongside additional content.

The adventure begins when Nitros Oxide, an alien racer who calls himself the fastest in the galaxy, challenges Earth’s racers. Crash Bandicoot and his allies race through varied worlds, earn boss keys, and work toward a final confrontation with Oxide before he can claim the planet.

Racecraft and Power-Ups

Races combine speed, drifting, and item use. Power sliding through corners can build boosts, while chaining boosts helps maintain momentum. Wumpa Fruit found on courses increases kart speed and strengthens power-ups. Racers can use offensive and defensive items including TNT crates, missiles, and shields to disrupt rivals or protect their own position.

Adventure Mode

Adventure Mode follows the challenge against Nitros Oxide across a series of races and boss encounters. Progression involves collecting boss keys, unlocking further content, and facing familiar Crash characters such as Dr. Neo Cortex, Coco Bandicoot, and Tiny Tiger.

Characters and Customization

The game features a roster of racers with different speed, acceleration, and turning attributes. Players can select characters and karts, then personalize their look with options including wheels, paint jobs, and stickers.
