Sonic Colors: Ultimate follows Sonic and Tails as they investigate Dr. Eggman's enormous amusement park in space. Although Eggman presents it as an apology, the park's connected planets hide a scheme involving captured alien Wisps and the Color Power being taken from them.

Developed by Blind Squirrel Games and published by SEGA, this Nintendo Switch adventure revisits the original Sonic Colors with updated presentation, refined controls, and a re-recorded soundtrack. Sonic races through attractions across the park while working to free the Wisps and uncover Eggman's plan.

Speed Across Eggman's Park

The action blends high-speed platforming with both 2D and 3D stages. Sonic can boost, jump, spin, and use homing attacks while navigating colorful worlds designed as different attractions within the interstellar park. Levels also contain alternate routes, secrets, and collectibles for players who explore beyond the main path.

Wisp Color Powers

Rescued Wisps grant Sonic special Color Powers that change how he moves through each stage. Powers such as Laser, Drill, and Burst can help overcome obstacles, reach new routes, and approach challenges in different ways. Returning to earlier areas with different powers can reveal places that were previously inaccessible.

Tokens and Rival Rush

Park Tokens collected during the adventure can be used to unlock cosmetic items and boosts for Sonic. The game also includes Rival Rush, a mode that pits Sonic against Metal Sonic in races for rewards.

Release Details

Sonic Colors: Ultimate launched on September 7, 2021 for Nintendo Switch. It is an action, adventure, and platformer release available in Europe and the USA, with language options including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Russian.
