Bravely Default II

04 About Bravely Default II

Bravely Default II is a role-playing adventure from Square-Enix, published by Nintendo for Nintendo Switch. Released on February 26, 2021, it follows Seth, a sailor who washes ashore in Halcyonia and becomes involved in a quest to recover stolen Crystals.

Seth travels with Gloria, a princess seeking to restore her fallen kingdom, alongside the scholars Elvis and Adelle. Their journey spans the continent of Excillant, where they confront powerful opponents and investigate a crisis threatening the world.

Brave and Default battles

Combat uses the series' Brave and Default system. Default lets characters conserve turns and build BP, while Brave spends BP to take several actions in succession. Choosing when to defend, save resources, or launch multiple attacks is central to each turn-based encounter.

Jobs and party building

Characters can equip a main job and a sub-job, combining abilities from different roles. This job system allows players to shape party members around different skills, support options, and battle strategies as new job abilities are unlocked.

Exploring Excillant

The adventure moves through towns, plains, and dungeons across Excillant. Exploration includes monsters, equipment, items, hidden paths, and treasures, while the journey gradually reveals more about the Crystals, the continent's history, and the forces behind the looming disaster.
