04 About Overcooked 2

Overcooked 2 is a party, strategy, and simulation game developed by Ghost Town and published by Team 17. Released for Nintendo Switch on August 7, 2018, it sends chefs into increasingly hectic kitchens where speed, organization, and cooperation determine success.

The Onion Kingdom is threatened by the Unbread, a zombie bread army. Called upon by the Onion King and Kevin, players travel through unusual locations, learn recipes, and work toward stopping the ravenous menace.

Kitchen teamwork

Each kitchen revolves around preparing incoming orders before time runs out. Chefs chop ingredients, cook food, fry items, assemble plates, and wash dishes while keeping several recipes moving at once. Clear communication and task division become especially important as orders build up.

Changing challenges

Kitchens are designed to disrupt routine with moving platforms, gaps, disappearing areas, and hazards such as fire. Players can throw ingredients to one another across obstacles, helping reduce travel time and maintain a steady workflow. Recipes include sushi, pizza, smoothies, and steamed buns, each requiring different preparation steps.

Ways to cook

Overcooked 2 supports solo play as well as cooking with up to four chefs. Local couch co-op and online multiplayer allow groups to tackle the kitchen chaos together, while progression unlocks additional chefs and kitchen environments.
