FATAL FRAME: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse Digital Deluxe Edition is a single-player adventure released for Nintendo Switch on March 9, 2023. Developed and published by KOEI TECMO AMERICA, it follows a supernatural mystery set on the isolated Rogetsu Isle.

A decade after five girls disappeared during an island festival, three survivors return with little memory of what happened. Ruka, Misaki, and Madoka search the abandoned island and its sanatorium for answers, while detective Choshiro Kirishima pursues the unresolved case from his own perspective.

A forgotten island mystery

The group’s investigation is shaped by vanished memories, unsettling visions, and the island’s tragic past. As the characters explore haunted locations, they uncover clues connected to the abduction, the Lunar Eclipse Mask, and the spirits that remain on Rogetsu Isle.

Camera Obscura encounters

Exploration combines environmental puzzles, documents, hidden items, and confrontations with ghosts. The Camera Obscura serves as the central tool for revealing paranormal phenomena and defending against hostile spirits. Carefully timing photographs can create powerful Fatal Frame shots, while different film, lenses, and camera functions support tougher encounters.
