River City Girls 2

04 About River City Girls 2

River City Girls 2 is an adventure, arcade, and fighting game from Arc System Works, released for Nintendo Switch on December 1, 2022. It continues the story of Kyoko and Misako as a fresh threat throws River City back into chaos.

After Sabu returns seeking revenge alongside his daughter Ken, the two heroines are expelled from school and forced to confront his criminal empire. Their journey takes them through an expanded River City, where new allies, hostile gangs, and powerful bosses stand in their way.

Side-Scrolling Street Fights

Combat centers on classic beat ’em up action, with punches, kicks, grapples, combos, and special moves used against groups of enemies. Environmental objects, including trash cans and surfboards, can be turned into improvised weapons during battles.

Characters and Progression

Kyoko and Misako each bring their own fighting styles, while additional characters can be unlocked. Players can improve character stats, learn techniques, equip abilities, and use items that restore health or provide temporary boosts. Defeated enemies may also be recruited to assist for a limited time.

River City and Co-op

The game features larger city districts to explore, with hidden items, money, side quests, returning figures, and new villains. Two players can battle together through local or online co-op.

Languages and Release Details

River City Girls 2 supports English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, and Chinese. It was published and developed by Arc System Works across Europe, the USA, Asia, and Japan.
