Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition is an adventure game from Spike Chunsoft for Nintendo Switch. Set at Gifted Inmates Academy, it follows 16 high school students with Ultimate talents who become trapped in a killing game directed by Monokuma and the Monokubs.

Players initially take the role of Kaede Akamatsu, the Ultimate Pianist. The students are bound by strict rules: escape is possible only if someone commits a murder and survives the following Class Trial without being identified. A correct verdict punishes the culprit, while a wrong accusation leaves the real killer alive.

Investigation and daily life

Between incidents, players explore the academy, speak with the other students, and learn more about their personalities and histories. Free Time events allow bonds to develop and can provide skills or insights. Once a murder takes place, investigations require searching scenes, examining objects, collecting evidence, and questioning witnesses before the trial begins.

Class Trial debates

Class Trials turn each case into a rapid deduction challenge. Evidence is used as Truth Bullets to expose contradictions in statements during Nonstop Debates, while Rebuttal Showdowns challenge players to cut through opposing claims. Other trial sequences include Mass Panic Debate, Logic Dive, Scrum Debate, Mind Mine, and Debate Scrum, each presenting information and arguments in different forms.

Truth, lies, and survival

The story centers on uncertainty, betrayal, truth, lies, and questions surrounding reality. Every investigation depends on careful attention to dialogue and evidence, since small details can alter the direction of a trial. The result is a visual-novel mystery built around exploration, character interactions, and high-stakes reasoning.
