04 About Disgaea 5 Complete

Disgaea 5 Complete is a role-playing game from Nippon Ichi Software, published by NIS America for Nintendo Switch. This edition includes the main game along with its downloadable characters and scenarios.

The story follows Killia, a demon seeking revenge on Void Dark, an emperor waging conquest across the Netherworlds. Along the way, Killia joins forces with a group of Overlords whose personal goals and territories draw them into a shared resistance.

Tactical battles

Combat takes place in turn-based, grid-based encounters where unit placement, terrain, abilities, and team coordination shape each battle. Geo Panels can alter battlefield conditions, while destroying them may trigger chain reactions. Revenge Mode can empower surviving allies after a teammate falls, granting bonuses and access to powerful Overload skills for certain Overlord characters.

Character progression

Characters can advance to extremely high levels, change through numerous classes, and reincarnate to improve their long-term potential. Equipment, abilities, squads, and Evilities provide further ways to develop a party around different tactical roles. The Dark Assembly lets players pursue changes through bills, including unlocking content and influencing certain game systems.

Items and Netherworld systems

The Item World sends characters into dungeons contained within equipment, providing opportunities to strengthen items, collect loot, and gain experience. Innocents within items can improve statistics and can be managed through the Innocent Farm. Squad assignments offer additional benefits, including support effects and improved experience gains.

Language support

Disgaea 5 Complete supports English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, and Chinese. It was released on May 23, 2017.
