Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD is a Sega-developed Nintendo Switch remaster released on October 29, 2019. It brings the series’ stage-tilting challenge back with colorful courses, timed goals, collectible bananas, and boss encounters.

Captain Crab has taken the Golden Banana, sending AiAi, MeeMee, Baby, GonGon, and the rest of the monkey gang on a journey across themed worlds to recover it.

Rolling through obstacle courses

Players steer the stage itself to roll a monkey enclosed in a ball toward each level’s goal before the timer expires. Courses feature narrow paths, gaps, traps, and routes that reward careful control, speed, and precise jumps. Bananas collected along the way can provide extra lives, while alternate paths and shortcuts can help improve clear times and scores.

Control options and characters

The HD version supports stick-based controls as well as optional motion controls, letting players choose how to tilt the stage. Different playable monkeys have distinct attributes, allowing players to experiment with a character that suits their preferred balance of speed and stability.

Bosses and mini-games

Worlds culminate in boss fights where learning attack patterns and weak points is important. Away from the main adventure, the game includes 100 mini-games with competitive and cooperative play for groups of friends.
