Trials of Mana

04 About Trials of Mana

Trials of Mana is an action role-playing game from Square Enix, released for Nintendo Switch in 2020. This remake reworks the original 16-bit adventure as a full 3D fantasy journey with real-time combat.

The Mana Tree is losing its power, while the eight Benevodons threaten to return. A fairy seeks heroes capable of stopping the disaster and restoring balance to the world.

Choose Your Party

Select three protagonists from a roster of six characters. Each hero has individual motivations and backstory, and the chosen party shapes the journey through towns, dungeons, and varied landscapes.

Real-Time Combat

Control one party member directly while two companions are managed by AI, with the option to switch heroes during battle. Dodges, blocks, special attacks, weapon skills, and elemental magic support an action-focused approach to encounters.

Class Development

Characters can advance through multiple class tiers, following Light or Dark routes that change their available abilities and combat roles. Training points, equipment, and Chain Abilities provide further ways to develop a party.

Nintendo Switch Release

Published and developed by Square Enix, the European release supports English, German, Spanish, French, and Japanese.
