Okami HD

04 About Okami HD

Okami HD follows Amaterasu, the sun goddess who returns in the form of a white wolf after the eight-headed demon Orochi spreads a curse across Nippon. With color and life fading from the land, Amaterasu travels alongside the artist Issun to help its people and confront the darkness.

Developed and published by Capcom, this action-adventure draws on Japanese folklore and presents its world in a sumi-e-inspired visual style. The Nintendo Switch release arrived on August 9, 2018 and supports English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, and Chinese.

Celestial Brush powers

The Celestial Brush lets players pause the action and paint commands that affect enemies and the environment. New techniques are granted by the twelve Celestial Brush gods, expanding Amaterasu's abilities for combat, puzzles, and traversal.

Restoring Nippon

Exploration takes Amaterasu through forests, cities, and other areas of Nippon. Cleansing cursed zones restores their color and vitality, while side activities, hidden discoveries, villagers, and optional challenges add to the journey.

Combat and equipment

Battles combine physical attacks, dodging, and brush-based abilities. Amaterasu can collect Divine Instruments, including rosaries, reflectors, and glaives, while resources and upgrades support her health, ink, inventory capacity, and other abilities.
