04 About Outlast Bundle of Terror

Outlast Bundle of Terror brings together the original Outlast and its Whistleblower expansion. Set within the decaying Mount Massive Asylum, both stories explore the consequences of horrifying experiments linked to the Murkoff Corporation.

The main game follows investigative journalist Miles Upshur after an anonymous lead draws him inside the facility. Whistleblower shifts focus to Waylon Park, a Murkoff software engineer whose actions set the earlier events in motion.

Survival Without Combat

This is a horror experience built around vulnerability rather than fighting. The asylum's hostile inhabitants cannot be defeated, so progress depends on staying hidden, avoiding detection, and fleeing when pursuit becomes unavoidable. Lockers, beds, doors, vents, and alternate routes can offer crucial opportunities to escape danger.

Camcorder and Exploration

Miles relies on a camcorder, especially its night-vision function, to see through the asylum's darkest spaces. Batteries are limited, making their conservation important while searching corridors and rooms. Exploration also reveals documents and other material that expands on the facility, its inhabitants, and Murkoff's disturbing work.

Mount Massive Asylum

The bundle centers on a claustrophobic psychiatric hospital filled with abandoned areas, environmental obstacles, and unsettling encounters. Players move through its ruined interior by navigating the environment, solving progression-focused puzzles, and running or vaulting away from threats when stealth is no longer possible.
