04 About Sonic Forces

Sonic Forces is a Sega-developed action-adventure game released for Nintendo Switch on November 7, 2017. Set in a world largely conquered by Dr. Eggman and the powerful newcomer Infinite, it follows the Resistance as it fights to reclaim the planet.

With Sonic initially missing, Knuckles leads the Resistance while familiar characters including Tails, Amy, and Silver contribute to the effort. The campaign brings Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic, and a player-created avatar together against Eggman's forces.

Three hero styles

The game alternates between distinct forms of platforming. Modern Sonic races through high-speed 3D stages, using boosts and quick movements to overcome hazards and enemies. Classic Sonic takes on 2D side-scrolling levels centered on rings, spin dashes, and precise jumps. Avatar stages combine traversal and combat through the custom character.

Create a Resistance recruit

Players can make their own hero and customize their appearance. The avatar uses Wispons, gadgets that offer different attacks and movement abilities, such as explosive attacks, flamethrowers, or lightning-based options. Certain stages also pair the avatar with Modern Sonic for cooperative maneuvers.

Stages, bosses, and replaying levels

Across the adventure, players face robot enemies, search for alternate routes and secrets, and confront major bosses including Eggman's machines and Infinite. Replaying stages can help uncover shortcuts, improve completion results, and develop a stronger understanding of each level's layout and character-specific abilities.
