Minecraft is an adventure, simulation, action, and strategy game from Mojang, released for Nintendo Switch on June 20, 2018. It places players in procedurally generated worlds without a fixed linear path, leaving the direction of each journey largely up to them.

Players gather blocks and materials, create tools and items, and shape the environment into shelters, farms, elaborate buildings, or larger settlements. Exploration can lead through forests, deserts, tundras, oceans, caves, and other biomes with their own resources and challenges.

Choose Your Own Goal

Rather than following a traditional scripted storyline, Minecraft builds its adventures around discovery and personal objectives. Survival, creative construction, rare biome exploration, and preparation for a confrontation with the Ender Dragon can each become part of a player's experience. Every new world offers a fresh setting for different projects and approaches.

Survival and Creative Play

Survival mode asks players to manage health and hunger while defending against hostile creatures, including zombies, skeletons, and creepers. Mining supplies materials for crafting, while farming and animal breeding provide useful resources. Creative mode instead provides unlimited resources and flight, focusing attention on building and experimentation.

Crafting, Building, and Discovery

Resources collected from the world can be turned into tools, equipment, crafting-table creations, redstone mechanisms, enchanted gear, and potions. Light sources help make dark areas safer, while careful mining and a prepared food supply support longer expeditions. Minecraft also supports cooperative play, allowing players to work together on builds and shared adventures.
