Minecraft Dungeons brings the block-built world of Minecraft into an isometric action role-playing adventure. Developed and published by Mojang, it launched for Nintendo Switch on May 26, 2020.

The adventure follows a hero seeking to end the Arch-Illager’s rule over the Overworld. After finding the Orb of Dominance, the outcast Illager Archie gains great power and begins terrorizing villages and enslaving their residents.

Dungeon-Crawling Action

Rather than centering on crafting, Minecraft Dungeons focuses on combat, exploration, and equipment. Players travel through varied biomes and procedurally generated levels, fighting familiar mobs such as zombies, creepers, and spiders while facing additional enemies, bosses, simple puzzles, and hidden areas.

Gear and Enchantments

Weapons, armor, and artifacts are central to progression. New gear can be found through exploration and combat, with different enchantments and abilities allowing players to shape their approach. Artifacts can provide effects such as healing, crowd control, or extra damage, while a streamlined leveling system unlocks new skills.

Solo or Cooperative Play

The campaign can be played alone or with up to three other players in local or online cooperative multiplayer. Teams can combine artifact effects and coordinate against tougher encounters as they search for secret passages, chests, emeralds, and stronger equipment.
