04 About Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a Nintendo Switch action platformer released on March 25, 2022. After being drawn through a vortex, Kirby arrives in a mysterious world of abandoned structures and nature-covered landscapes.

The Beast Pack has captured the Waddle Dees, sending Kirby and his new companion Elfilin across varied stages to rescue them. Saving Waddle Dees helps restore Waddle Dee Town while revealing more of the forgotten world's history.

A New 3D Adventure

This entry brings Kirby's main-series platforming into 3D environments. Players explore broad stages, search for hidden paths, solve environmental puzzles, battle enemies, and face bosses. Careful exploration can uncover rescued Waddle Dees, blueprints, and areas that may require particular abilities.

Copy Abilities and Mouthful Mode

Kirby can inhale enemies to acquire familiar Copy Abilities, then use their powers in combat and exploration. Copy Abilities can be upgraded at Waddle Dee's Weapons Shop, granting stronger attacks and new options. Mouthful Mode is another key feature, letting Kirby take on transformations by inhaling large objects such as cars and vending machines for traversal and puzzle-solving uses.

Waddle Dee Town and Co-op Play

As more Waddle Dees are rescued, Waddle Dee Town is rebuilt and expanded. The town includes the Weapons Shop, items, and gacha figures purchased with star coins. A second player can join as Bandana Waddle Dee, while challenge stages offer opportunities to experiment with different Copy Abilities and strategies.
