Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is a 2021 action game from Capcom for Nintendo Switch. It reimagines the classic arcade series with updated artwork while retaining its famously demanding side-scrolling combat and platforming.

Sir Arthur’s peaceful time with Princess Prin Prin is interrupted when the Demon Lord Astaroth takes her to the Demon Realm. Arthur sets out through dangerous stages, traps, monsters, and boss encounters to reach Astaroth and rescue the princess.

Precision Under Pressure

Arthur must make careful jumps, attacks, and evasive moves while facing hostile creatures across hazardous environments. His armor is lost after a single hit, leaving him vulnerable; another hit results in death. Several difficulty options are available, including Page mode for a more forgiving approach.

Weapons, Magic, and Upgrades

Different weapons can be discovered during the journey, including lances, daggers, axes, and a hammer. Their differing properties encourage players to choose equipment for the threats ahead. Arthur can also unlock magic spells and new abilities through the Umbral Tree progression system.

Demonic Opposition

The adventure features reworked versions of familiar foes such as Red Arremers, Zombies, and Unicorns. Learning enemy behavior, adjusting weapon choices, and using magic at key moments are important when confronting enemy groups and the powerful bosses that guard each area.

Shadow Arthur Support

A second player can join locally as Shadow Arthur to assist the main knight. This support character can help protect Arthur as he advances through the Demon Realm.
