04 About Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate places players in the role of a new Hunter working with the Wycademy from Bherna Village. Requests lead across Bherna, Yukumo, Kokoto, and Pokke as increasingly dangerous creatures threaten their communities.

The central progression revolves around accepting quests, tracking and defeating large monsters, collecting materials, and forging improved equipment for tougher challenges. The game was released for Nintendo Switch on August 28, 2018.

Hunting and crafting

Each hunt can provide monster parts and environmental resources used to create weapons and armor. The growing difficulty of quests encourages regular equipment upgrades while players work toward encounters with Elder Dragons, Deviant Monsters, and G-Rank missions.

Weapons, styles, and Hunter Arts

Fourteen weapon types offer distinct movesets and approaches to combat, from the quick Dual Blades to the heavy-hitting Great Sword. Six Hunting Styles, including Aerial, Striker, and Valor, further shape a hunter's techniques. Hunter Arts add special attacks or support abilities that charge during battle.

Monsters and Prowler Mode

The roster includes more than 100 monsters, featuring returning creatures alongside new targets. Prowler Mode allows players to take control of a Felyne companion, using its own abilities for combat and gathering. The game supports hunts with up to four players through online or local cooperative play.
