Shining Resonance Refrain is an action role-playing game from Sega for Nintendo Switch. Set across the continent of Alfheim, it follows Yuma Ilvern, a reserved young man who carries the soul and power of the legendary Shining Dragon.

Yuma is pursued by the Empire and the Church, both seeking to use his dragon abilities. Princess Sonia Blanche and her allies, including Dragon-Slayers and mages, fight to keep him safe as the fate of a land where dragons have become scarce hangs in the balance.

Real-Time Party Battles

Combat unfolds in real time, with players able to control different party members and use their distinct battle styles, magic, and combos. Yuma can transform through Dragon Shift for formidable power, though this form must be managed carefully to prevent him from going berserk.

Music and Bonds

The B.A.N.D. Performance System lets the group perform during battle to provide buffs and abilities for the party. Relationship-focused M.O.E.S. events and choices strengthen bonds with allies, opening special scenes and improving their effectiveness in combat.

Character Building and Refrain Mode

Runes and Aspects of Dragons can be equipped to adjust character statistics and abilities. Refrain Mode is available from the beginning and adds Excella and Jenius as party members, presenting an alternative perspective on the adventure.
