No Man’s Sky is an action-adventure role-playing simulation from Hello Games that places players in a vast procedurally generated universe. Beginning as a Traveler with a damaged starship, players set out across planets, space stations, and star systems in search of answers about their existence and the galaxy itself.

Its open-ended structure supports many approaches to life among the stars. Exploration, survival, trading, combat, crafting, and construction can all shape an individual journey, whether the focus is discovering unfamiliar worlds or pursuing the paths connected to Atlas and Artemis.

A Universe of Discovery

Every journey can lead to new planets with distinct flora, fauna, resources, and environmental dangers. Ancient ruins, Knowledge Stones, alien encounters, and space stations reveal fragments of lore, while the Korvax, Gek, and Vy’keen each bring their own histories and perspectives to the wider universe.

Survival, Crafting, and Travel

Harsh conditions demand careful attention to life support, hazard protection, and available supplies. Materials gathered from planetary environments are used to repair equipment, fuel travel, and create upgrades for the exosuit, starship, and multi-tool. Scanning minerals, plants, and creatures also provides useful information and units.

Choose Your Own Pursuits

Players may trade goods across systems, confront pirate vessels in space, fight hostile forces on planets, or establish bases as personal shelters and operational hubs. The game also allows players to team up with friends for exploration and building, while its non-linear quest structure leaves room to decide which mysteries to follow.
