04 About 1-2

1-2 Switch is a Nintendo action and party game that shifts attention away from the television and toward the people playing. Its short competitive challenges are designed around direct reactions, gestures, sound cues, and playful face-to-face interaction.

Rather than following a story or campaign, the game presents a collection of standalone scenarios. Players use Joy-Con motion controls and HD Rumble to respond to each challenge, creating spontaneous contests that emphasize observation, timing, and physical performance.

Joy-Con-focused challenges

The game uses the Joy-Con controllers in varied ways, including motion-based actions and vibration feedback. Some activities ask players to interpret subtle sensations through HD Rumble, while others rely on reacting quickly to spoken prompts or copying physical actions.

Mini-game variety

Challenges include a fast-draw duel, simulated cow milking, guessing the number of balls inside a controller, cracking a safe through vibration, sword duels, an eating contest, and simplified table tennis. Each scenario has its own premise and control style.

Reading cues and opponents

Success often comes from listening closely, feeling controller feedback, and making deliberate movements. Since players frequently watch one another instead of the screen, body language, timing, and quick decisions can shape the outcome of a round.

Release information
