DRAGON QUEST XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition

04 About DRAGON QUEST XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition

DRAGON QUEST XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is a role-playing game from Square Enix set in the world of Erdrea. The story follows the Luminary, who discovers his destined role on his sixteenth birthday before being branded the Darkspawn by a king.

Joined by a varied group of companions, the Luminary sets out to uncover the truth behind the prophecy and confront an evil threatening the world. The journey spans towns, landscapes, monsters, hidden treasures, and character-driven moments.

Classic combat and exploration

The adventure uses traditional turn-based battles with strategic options for building a party. Expansive areas encourage exploration, with secrets, resources, equipment, and treasures to find. Pep Powers can be activated in battle for powerful offensive or supportive effects, while mounts help with travel across the world map.

Party growth and crafting

Each party member has an individual skill tree, allowing players to choose abilities and shape different combat approaches. Equipment can further refine the group, and the Fun-Size Forge lets players create and improve gear from collected materials and recipes.

Definitive Edition additions

This edition includes character-specific storylines, expanded voice acting, and a choice between modern 3D presentation and retro-inspired 2D pixel art. Players can also select orchestral or original synthesizer soundtrack versions, while Draconian Quests provide optional difficulty adjustments.
