04 About Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 is a Nintendo-developed third-person shooter for Nintendo Switch, released on July 21, 2017. Its battles revolve around spreading ink, outmaneuvering opponents, and switching between humanoid and squid forms.

Players can use squid form to swim through their team’s ink, scale inked walls, and refill their ink supply. A range of weapon styles, including Shoters, Rollers, Chargers, Sloshers, and Dualies, supports different approaches to each match.

Octo Canyon Campaign

The single-player Hero Mode, Octo Canyon, takes place two years after the original game. As Agent 4, a recruit of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, players work alongside Marie to recover the Great Zapfish and investigate the disappearance of Callie and Cap'n Cuttlefish. The campaign features Octarian enemies, platforming-focused stages, puzzles, and boss encounters.

Ink-Based Multiplayer

Turf War pits two teams of four against one another in a three-minute contest to ink the greatest amount of ground. Ranked play includes Splat Zones, Tower Control, Rainmaker, and Clam Blitz, each centered on a different objective. Private matches offer a more casual way to play.

Salmon Run and Customization

Salmon Run is a cooperative mode where players collect Golden Eggs while facing Salmonid enemies. Gear choices include headgear, clothing, and shoes with abilities that can affect play. Temporary special weapons, earned through inking turf, include options such as Tenta Missiles and Inkjet.
