04 About Little Nightmares II

Little Nightmares II is a platformer and puzzle game from Bandai Namco, released for Nintendo Switch in 2021. It follows Mono, a boy wearing a paper bag, as he travels through a distorted world influenced by the Signal Tower.

Mono joins Six, the previous game's protagonist, on a dangerous route toward the tower. Their journey crosses threatening locations including a dark forest, a school, and a hospital, where strange inhabitants turn every passage into a risk.

Stealth and environmental puzzles

Progress depends on observation, timing, and using the surroundings. Mono must avoid oversized adversaries, solve environmental obstacles, and take part in demanding escape sequences. Direct combat is limited; objects can sometimes be used to briefly stun dangers, but evasion remains the central approach.

A companion on the journey

Six accompanies Mono and plays an important role in overcoming certain barriers. Her actions can point toward the next route or help complete puzzles, making the pair's cooperation part of both progression and the game's story.

An unsettling visual narrative

The game tells much of its narrative through its environments, imagery, and sound design. Hidden Glitching Remains and hats for Mono reward exploration, while the story explores fear, friendship, and transformation on the way to an ambiguous conclusion.
