Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is a strategy collection for Nintendo Switch, released on April 21, 2023. Developed and published by Nintendo, it revisits Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising with refreshed presentation and animations.

Players lead armies across grid-based maps, making careful use of units, terrain, properties, and each Commanding Officer’s special abilities. Victory commonly comes from taking an opponent’s headquarters or removing every enemy unit from the battlefield.

Two campaigns across Cosmo Land

The first campaign follows Orange Star’s new Commanding Officer, Andy, after Black Hole forces disrupt the peace in Cosmo Land. Alongside Max, Sami, and allies from other nations, he investigates the invaders’ intentions. The second story continues the conflict as Sturm returns with a plan to conquer every nation, forcing familiar commanders and new allies to stand together against Black Hole.

Command an adaptable army

Battles feature infantry, tanks, air units, and naval forces, each with different roles and counters. Terrain affects movement and defense, so forests, mountains, cities, and open ground can shape every engagement. Commanding Officers bring individual strengths and CO Powers that can dramatically alter a difficult battle when used at the right time.

Build resources and control the map

Capturing cities, factories, airfields, and ports provides funds and access to additional unit production. Expanding control early can create more options as a battle develops, while airfields and ports open tactical opportunities for aerial and naval forces. Success depends on planning ahead, protecting valuable units, and responding to enemy positioning.
