AKIBA’S TRIP: Hellbound & Debriefed is a beat-em-up set in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, where anime, manga, and electronics culture conceal a supernatural conflict. The game follows Nanashi, a young man drawn into the fight against the vampiric Synthisters.

After surviving a near-fatal encounter, Nanashi gains the power to oppose these enemies but also inherits a dangerous weakness to sunlight. With a group of allies, he investigates the threat hanging over Akihabara and the motives behind the Synthisters’ actions.

Sunlight Is the Weapon

Combat centers on exposing Synthisters to sunlight by targeting and removing individual pieces of their clothing. Attacks can be chained, while blocking, dodging, and observing enemy behavior are important parts of handling tougher confrontations.

Explore Akihabara

Players can roam a recreated version of Akihabara, speak with its inhabitants, uncover secrets, visit shops, and take on story missions alongside side quests. Day and night conditions affect enemy encounters during exploration.

Outfits and Equipment

Nanashi can be customized with a range of clothing and accessories. Weapons and gear can be upgraded, and different outfits provide stat bonuses and resistances that support different approaches to combat.
