AKIBA’S TRIP2 Director’s Cut is an action-adventure role-playing game set in modern Akihabara. Players take the role of Nanashi, who is transformed into a vampire-like Synthister and drawn into a hidden conflict threatening the district’s residents.

After being rescued by the mysterious Shizuku, Nanashi joins allies working to expose Synthisters before they can drain more life force. The Director’s Cut expands the experience with Kati’s Route, a storyline centered on the foreign exchange student Kati.

Strip Action Battles

Combat revolves around targeting an opponent’s clothing and tearing it away to expose Synthisters to sunlight. Players can use different weapons, outfits, and equipment, while attacks can be chained for stronger combat sequences. Choosing gear and focusing on individual clothing pieces adds a strategic element to encounters.

A Virtual Akihabara

The game lets players explore a detailed recreation of Akihabara, including landmarks, shops, residents, and side activities. Wandering away from the main path can reveal items, quests, and additional interactions throughout the city.

Allies and Choices

Building relationships with companions affects dialogue and can unlock events, cooperative moves, and different endings. Side missions provide further opportunities to learn about Akihabara’s inhabitants while developing Nanashi’s connections with the group.

Developed and published by Acquire, AKIBA’S TRIP2 Director’s Cut released for Nintendo Switch on March 16, 2023. It supports English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean, with availability listed for Asia and Japan.
