Set 15 years after the original 1979 Alien film, Alien: Isolation follows Amanda Ripley as she searches for answers about the disappearance of her mother, Ellen. Her investigation brings her to Sevastopol, a deteriorating space station believed to hold the Nostromo's flight recorder.

Sevastopol is anything but empty. Amanda must contend with frightened survivors, malfunctioning androids, and a relentless Xenomorph while uncovering the station's secrets. The Nintendo Switch release supports English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Russian.

Survival under pressure

The experience centers on stealth, evasion, and careful decision-making rather than direct confrontation. The Xenomorph is an overwhelming threat, making cover, lockers, and hiding places essential when danger closes in. Sound cues can provide crucial warning of nearby threats.

Resources are limited throughout Sevastopol. Amanda can search for materials and craft tools such as distractions and basic defensive items, but supplies must be used thoughtfully. Flares, noisemakers, and medical items can be valuable when escape or survival depends on them.

The Alien's behavior adapts to Amanda's actions, helping make encounters uncertain. Players can use the motion tracker to detect threats, although its use can also draw attention. Progress also involves interacting with terminals, navigating the station, and completing objectives amid its claustrophobic environments.
