Released for Nintendo Switch in 2022, Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is an action, adventure, and role-playing game from Interplay. It brings dungeon-focused real-time combat to the Forgotten Realms, with a quest that begins after a hero reaches Baldur’s Gate and survives a goblin attack.

The investigation soon points to a darker threat beneath the city. Sewers, crypts, fortresses, temples, caverns, deserts, and other hostile locations stand between the heroes and the forces seeking to spread chaos across the Sword Coast.

Choose a hero

Players begin by selecting one of three distinct characters: a human warrior, an elven archer, or a dwarven rogue. Each hero has different abilities and a separate approach to combat, allowing players to favor direct attacks, ranged fighting, or rogue-style tactics.

Real-time dungeon combat

Battles unfold in real time against creatures from the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Characters use weapons, special attacks, and magic while facing enemies and bosses throughout dangerous areas. Offensive, defensive, and utility spells offer further options during encounters.

Loot, skills, and exploration

Defeated foes and treasure chests can provide gold, weapons, armor, and magical items. Experience points allow characters to level up and gain skills and attributes, while equipment upgrades support progress through increasingly dangerous dungeons. Exploring beyond the main route can reveal hidden passages, extra treasure, and secret areas.
