Captain Toad Treasure Tracker

04 About Captain Toad Treasure Tracker

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is a puzzle-platformer from Nintendo for Nintendo Switch, released on July 13, 2018. It follows Captain Toad as he searches for the Power Star and tries to rescue Toadette after Wingo carries them away.

The adventure takes place in compact, diorama-style courses filled with paths, enemies, hazards, and concealed collectibles. Captain Toad’s heavy backpack prevents him from jumping, so progress depends on observation, careful movement, and using the environment intelligently.

Perspective-Based Puzzles

Each stage is designed as a small 3D puzzle box. Rotating the camera can expose routes, passages, and items that are hidden from another angle, turning apparent dead ends into opportunities for exploration. Reaching the Power Star generally completes a course and moves the adventure forward.

Treasures and Challenges

Every level contains three Super Gems to find, providing an additional goal beyond reaching the exit. These collectibles may require players to examine the stage layout closely, navigate around threats, and work out how different platforms or obstacles fit together.

Tools, Enemies, and Hazards

Captain Toad and Toadette encounter enemies and environmental dangers throughout their journey. Certain stages provide items such as pickaxes for breaking blocks or turnip launchers that can be used against foes and to activate switches. With no jump ability available, positioning and timing remain central to solving each course.

Release Details
