Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is a role-playing game from Square Enix, released for Nintendo Switch on April 07, 2022. It follows Serge, a young resident of the fishing village of Arni, after he enters another dimension where he died as a child.

As Serge searches for answers about his history and fate, he encounters Lynx and the Time Devourer. The adventure explores parallel worlds, memory, identity, and the consequences tied to its branching narrative paths and multiple endings.

Combat and Elements

Battles use a Stamina system alongside an Element Grid rather than a conventional magic-point structure. Players can chain attacks, equip Elements, and plan around stamina costs when choosing attacks, defensive actions, and abilities. Field Effects can also alter elemental damage during combat, adding another strategic consideration.

Party members and exploration

The game features more than 40 playable characters, each with distinct abilities, motivations, and connections to the story. Recruiting characters is part of the journey, while exploration can reveal optional recruits, items, and side content. Party composition and equipped Elements can be adjusted to suit different encounters.

Radical Dreamers and edition features

This edition includes Radical Dreamers – Le Trésor Interdit -, a text-based adventure connected to the background of Kid and events that lead into Chrono Cross. It also provides options for auto-battle, battle-speed changes, and toggling enemy encounters.
