Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is an action game from Vigil Games, published by THQ for Nintendo Switch. It follows Death, the eldest of the Four Horsemen, as he sets out to clear the name of his brother War.

War has been accused of bringing about the Apocalypse too soon. Seeking to restore humanity and prove his brother's innocence, Death travels through distant realms while facing ancient threats, powerful enemies, and a conspiracy that endangers creation.

Combat and abilities

Death fights with his signature dual scythes alongside secondary weapons, magical powers, combos, and finishers. Encounters range from demon hordes to large boss battles, with dodging, ranged options, and different ability combinations offering ways to approach dangerous foes.

Exploration and puzzles

The journey spans interconnected environments containing dungeons, hidden routes, breakable objects, secrets, side quests, and environmental puzzles. Death can summon his spectral steed, Despair, to move across larger areas.

Character progression

RPG systems allow players to shape Death through equipment, armor, stats, skills, and combat abilities. Loot found during exploration can be used to improve his gear, while skill trees support different combat styles.
