Diablo II: Resurrected is an action, adventure, and role-playing game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. Released on September 23, 2021, it revisits the dark world of Sanctuary through a remastered presentation while retaining the original game’s demon-filled journey and character-building depth.

The adventure follows the trail of the Dark Wanderer, a former hero corrupted by Diablo. Across five acts, players confront the growing influence of the Prime Evils—Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal—in a struggle to keep Sanctuary from falling into ruin.

Seven hero classes

Players can take on the quest as an Amazon, Assassin, Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, or Sorceress. Every class has its own skills and combat approach, while skill points and attribute choices allow heroes to be shaped into different builds.

Combat, loot, and exploration

The game centers on fast-paced battles against demons and monsters, with weapons, armor, gems, runes, set items, and unique equipment found through exploration and enemy encounters. Randomized dungeons and outdoor areas make new games vary, while major bosses provide a challenge at the end of each act.

Mercenaries and greater challenges

Mercenaries can be hired as AI-controlled companions, offering additional support in combat. After the main journey, Nightmare and Hell difficulties raise the danger while providing opportunities to find stronger rewards. The remaster also lets players switch between its updated 3D look and classic 2D sprite visuals.
