04 About Digimon Survive

Digimon Survive is an Adventure, Simulation, and RPG title from Bandai Namco, released for Nintendo Switch on July 28, 2022. It follows high school student Takuma Momozuka and his classmates after their school trip leads them into an unfamiliar world inhabited by Digimon.

Separated from their normal lives, the group must form partnerships with Digital Monsters while facing a dangerous setting filled with uncertainty. The game presents a more serious story focused on survival, loss, friendship, and difficult decisions.

Choices Shape the Journey

Much of the experience unfolds through visual novel-style scenes. Dialogue decisions affect relationships, the direction of the narrative, character outcomes, and the endings reached. Choices also influence Digimon evolution, making conversations and moral decisions an important part of progression.

Tactical Digimon Battles

Story scenes are joined by turn-based tactical RPG combat on grid-based maps. Positioning, individual skills, elemental strengths, and enemy resistances all matter when planning encounters. Players can use Talk during battle to negotiate with new Digimon or support allies, while team composition and equipment management help prepare for tougher fights.

Exploration and Partners

During free action phases, exploration can reveal objects, clues, items, and hidden areas. Building bonds with Digimon supports their development and unlocks new evolutionary forms and abilities. Recruiting additional Digimon and experimenting with different combinations offers further options for approaching battles.
