Disco Elysium – The Final Cut places players in the role of an amnesiac detective who awakens in a ruined hostel room and must investigate a murder in Martinaise. The case unfolds within a decaying, politically charged part of Revachol, where the search for answers also becomes a search for the detective’s lost identity.

This role-playing adventure emphasizes conversation, investigation, and consequential decisions instead of conventional combat. Encounters, deductions, and personal choices shape both the case and the way the world responds to the detective.

A detective shaped by choices

The investigation is built around branching dialogue with a wide range of characters, each carrying their own views and secrets. Decisions can influence the direction of the narrative, while moral questions, political ideas, and personal reflection are woven into the central murder mystery.

Skills as inner voices

Character development uses 24 skills divided among Intellect, Psyche, Physique, and Motorics. These abilities represent distinct sides of the detective’s personality and can comment on locations, conversations, and events, offering insight that may be useful, contradictory, or misleading. Skill checks can succeed or fail during investigations and discussions, creating different outcomes.

The Thought Cabinet

The Thought Cabinet lets the detective internalize ideas encountered throughout the story. Once processed, these thoughts can apply passive advantages or drawbacks, adding another layer to character customization. Players can build an investigator around intellectual analysis, charisma, physical toughness, or other approaches.

Exploring Revachol

Revachol is presented as a detailed, hand-painted city environment with people to question, objects to examine, and hidden details to uncover. English, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Chinese, and Portuguese language options are available.
