Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is an action role-playing game from Capcom for Nintendo Switch. A dragon named Grigori attacks a fishing village and takes the protagonist’s heart, yet they survive as the Arisen, setting out across Gransys to confront the creature and uncover their fate.

The Dark Arisen content extends the journey to Bitterblack Isle, a cursed location beneath Gransys. Its dangerous depths introduce a darker chapter, formidable enemies, and powerful equipment.

Combat and vocations

Real-time battles emphasize positioning, enemy weaknesses, and direct action. The Arisen can climb huge creatures to reach vulnerable areas, while facing threats ranging from goblins to hydras and griffins. Character creation includes the Arisen and a Main Pawn, with vocations such as Fighter, Strider, Mage, and advanced classes shaping their abilities.

The Pawn party

The Pawn system centers on an AI-created Main Pawn that can learn from the player’s approach. Two additional Pawns created by other players may join the party, giving the group up to three companions. Their skills, behavior, and knowledge can help identify monster vulnerabilities and support exploration or combat.

Gransys and Bitterblack Isle

Gransys is an open world of towns, ruins, dungeons, quests, and dangerous wilderness. Weapons and armor can be collected and upgraded to prepare for greater challenges. Bitterblack Isle raises the difficulty with stronger foes, new gear, and an oppressive setting designed to test party strategy.
