Hello Neighbor is a first-person action-puzzle adventure from tinyBuild Games. Set in a suburban neighborhood, it follows Nicky Roth, whose concern grows after he notices his neighbor, Mr. Peterson, behaving oddly and sealing off a door in his home.

Determined to learn what lies beneath the house, Nicky explores the property in search of access to its basement. The story is presented through visual details, rooms, and objects that gradually suggest the troubling history behind the neighbor’s secrets.

Stealth and exploration

The central challenge is entering Mr. Peterson’s house, searching its rooms, and reaching previously inaccessible areas without being caught. Hidden routes, secret spaces, keys, mechanisms, and environmental obstacles turn each visit into an investigation.

An adaptive neighbor

Mr. Peterson responds to the player’s habits. Frequently using the same entrance or tactic can lead to new barricades and traps, encouraging different routes and improvised plans. Watching his movements, creating distractions, hiding, and keeping an escape path in mind can help avoid capture.

Puzzle-solving with found objects

Objects throughout the house can be used to make noise, divert attention, interact with mechanisms, and overcome obstacles. Progress depends on experimenting with the environment and combining careful observation with creative solutions.

Hello Neighbor was released for Nintendo Switch on July 27, 2018. It supports English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean, and is available in Europe and the USA.
