Hyperdimension Neptunia GameMaker R: Evolution is a role-playing game set in Gamindustri. As a wave of uninspired content weakens the Shares that support the Goddesses, Neptune, Noire, Blanc, Vert, and their allies confront a group seeking control over entertainment and creativity.

The adventure mixes RPG progression with game creation. The party explores towns and dungeons, fights enemies, and works to inspire Gamindustri through the development of virtual games.

Battles and exploration

Combat uses turn-based battles with combo attacks, character-specific skills, EXE Drives, and HDD transformations. Party equipment, accessories, formation choices, and Link Skills can be adjusted while exploring areas containing NPCs, treasure, materials, and side quests.

Building a studio

A central system lets players manage a game development studio. Genres, themes, and staff choices shape the games produced, while developers can be recruited and trained and studio capabilities improved. Successful releases can affect public opinion, the economy, story progress, character abilities, buffs, and special events.
