Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

04 About Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is an action-adventure from Koei Tecmo Games and Nintendo, released for Nintendo Switch on November 20, 2020. Set 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it follows Hyrule during the events surrounding the Great Calamity.

A small Guardian travels through time, placing Link, Zelda, Impa, and the four Champions at the center of a struggle against Calamity Ganon. The game combines familiar Zelda characters and lore with the crowd-focused battle format of the Warriors series.

Large-Scale Battles

Players fight across broad battlefields against large groups of enemies, using combos, special attacks, elemental rods, and character-specific movesets. Link, Zelda, Impa, and the Champions each bring their own abilities and approaches to combat.

Sheikah Slate and Strategy

Sheikah Slate runes including Stasis, Magnesis, Cryonis, and Remote Bombs can create openings against opponents. Enemy Weak-Point Gauges, strongholds, captains, dodges, parries, and Flurry Rushes add tactical considerations beyond direct attacks.

Progression and Missions

The story campaign is accompanied by side missions that expand on Hyrule's events. Materials gathered from enemies and explored areas are used for weapon crafting, meals, and quests, while Divine Beast encounters offer a destructive perspective during major battles.
