04 About It Takes Two

It Takes Two follows Cody and May, a married couple facing divorce. After their daughter Rose makes dolls in their likeness, magic places the pair inside the dolls, beginning an unusual journey back to their human lives.

Guided by Dr. Hakim, the self-proclaimed Book of Love, Cody and May move through fantastical settings shaped by their relationship and memories. Their path asks them to confront their problems while working toward their family’s future.

Built Around Cooperation

This is a two-player cooperative adventure in which each participant controls either Cody or May. Their abilities differ from level to level and are designed to complement one another, making communication, timing, and shared problem-solving central to progress. Play is available locally or online.

Constantly Changing Challenges

Platforming, environmental puzzles, action sequences, boss encounters, flying segments, and third-person shooting elements appear across the adventure. New mechanics are introduced regularly, so the approach to one area may be very different from the next. Success depends on combining each character’s tools in creative ways.

Whimsical Worlds and Side Activities

The journey includes unusual locations such as a workshop populated by angry tools and a pillow-made space station. Each area has its own theme, obstacles, and character abilities. Optional minigames found throughout the levels offer competitive diversions between cooperative challenges.
