Released for Nintendo Switch in 2018, Kirby Star Allies is an action-platform adventure developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. Kirby travels across Planet Popstar and beyond after Dark Hearts corrupt creatures and threaten the galaxy.

Kirby can throw Friend Hearts to turn enemies into allies, creating a group of up to four characters. The journey supports local cooperative play, while computer-controlled allies can fill open team spaces.

Friendship-Focused Adventure

The story follows Kirby as he works to stop Hyness and Jambastion from reviving an ancient destroyer. Along the way, he confronts corrupted allies, encounters the Jambastion mages, and ventures through multiple worlds toward a conflict in another dimension.

Copy Powers and Team Combinations

Kirby's familiar ability to copy enemy powers returns, with options such as Sword, Hammer, Artist, and Staff. Team members can add elemental effects or other enhancements to these abilities, producing Friend Abilities for combat, exploration, and puzzle solving.

Dream Friends and Group Actions

Classic Kirby characters including King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Bandana Waddle Dee can join as Dream Friends. The party can also use coordinated Friend Actions, such as Friend Train and Friend Bridge, to cross hazards, reach new areas, and take on larger enemies. Hidden paths, switches, and Picture Pieces encourage careful exploration.
